Greetings and a warm aloha to all of you.

Allow me to start by sharing how deeply honored and grateful I am for those who have supported, guided, and placed their faith in me. To my fellow members of the Executive Board; I look forward to embarking on this adventure with you. To all the members of this incredible organization, thank you for joining me and my administration for the start of something new and exciting, and for trusting me. I will work hard to be worthy of that trust.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “the sign of a good leader is not how many followers you have, but how many leaders you create”. I plan to use these words to guide my presidency.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “the sign of a good leader is not how many followers you have, but how many leaders you create”. I plan to use these words to guide my presidency.

As the newly elected President of the Philippine Nurses Association of Hawaii (PNAH), a goal of mine is to develop more Filipino American nurse leaders. The field of nursing needs youthful, vibrant leaders who create valuable, positive change. As President of the PNAH, I plan to be the change agent and will accomplish this through transformational leadership.

Transformational leadership will allow me to provide a pathway for our members to realize their capabilities and emerge as nurse leaders. Over the next two years, we will see our members courageously initiate change, bring forth innovative ideas, implement their vision, assume leadership roles, and hopefully inspire others to do the same.

You will see the term “EMERGE” quite often. This word not only symbolizes what I hope to accomplish, but it also serves as an acronym for my guiding principles. Emerge stands for: Excellence, Mentorship, Engagement, Resilience, Growth, and Empowerment. These are the powerful words that I will use to steer my presidency and I welcome you to join me on this journey.
Your servant leader,
Excellence, Mentorship, Engagement, Resilience, Growth and Empowerment
